Who this is for

  • Companies whose customers choose through AIServices, B2B and high-value purchases, where the choice starts with a question to an assistant: “who should I pick”, “what's better”.
  • Sites losing clicks to AI OverviewsImpressions in Search Console hold steady while CTR on informational queries drops.
  • Online stores in comparison queriesFor example, “which one to choose”, “top 5”, “X or Y”, where AI builds the shortlist itself.
  • Brands that AI gets wrongOutdated prices, a wrong address, confusion with a competitor or an old name.

Problems it solves

  • AI assistants don't name your brand in answers about your category
  • Answers cite competitors, aggregators or forums instead of your website
  • AI gives outdated or wrong facts about your company
  • AI crawlers are blocked in robots.txt, CDN or WAF, or can't see content because of JavaScript
  • Content doesn't answer specific questions, so it is hard to extract and cite
  • Traffic from AI sources isn't separated in analytics, so the effect can't be measured

What's included

  • AI visibility auditA fixed set of prompts for your category, markets and languages. I measure mentions, citations and how your brand is described in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Google AI Overviews / AI Mode.
  • Access for AI crawlersI check robots.txt, CDN/WAF rules, rendering and server logs. The goal is for OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Bingbot and Googlebot to receive the full HTML.
  • Entity optimizationOrganization, Person, Service and Product markup in JSON-LD, linked via @id and sameAs. Plus consistent company data on the site, in Google Business Profile, directories and social profiles.
  • Content built to be citedA direct answer in the first sentences, definitions, comparison tables, FAQ, facts with dates and sources. I write briefs for pages that target the questions users ask AI.
  • External signalsMentions on platforms that AI uses as sources: industry media, directories, reviews, ratings. I work only within each platform's rules.
  • MeasurementA separate AI referral channel in GA4 and a monthly re-measurement on the same prompts. The report shows your share of mentions versus competitors.

Methodology

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is optimizing a website and brand so that generative AI systems use them as a source for answers. AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) is part of it: preparing content for direct answers. I start with the question “what does AI say about your category today, and why doesn't it name you?”, not with a checklist.

SEO is the foundation, not a replacement

Google AI Overviews and AI Mode are built on Google's index. ChatGPT Search, Copilot and Perplexity use search indexes and their own crawlers. A page that isn't crawled and indexed won't be cited. That's why the first step is a technical check: indexing, rendering, bot access.

Prompts instead of keywords

Users ask AI detailed questions, and the model breaks them into dozens of sub-queries. I build the prompt set from real buying scenarios: comparisons, “best for…”, questions about price and reliability. This set works as the semantic core for AI search.

I measure mentions

AI answers vary from run to run and depend on the user, so a single screenshot proves nothing. I repeat the measurement on a fixed prompt set and track share of mentions over time. Every change on the site goes into a log, so its effect can be matched against the data.
